Everything in due time
What time during the day should an applicant send in his or her application?
When planning a daily routine, job applicants should be aware of the various periods throughout the day. In each one, there’s always one particular time when it’s better to get something done than another. This also goes for when you’re looking for a job, since the people responsible for hiring structure their daily work routine a certain way as well (either consciously or unconsciously).
The time of day also has an influence on memory and concentration. This is simply a result of how human beings’ biological rhythm works, or maybe certain workflows, depending on the specific way a particular business operates. In October 2017, a survey conducted on the American job website TalentWorks indicated that the best part of the day to send a company your application documents is during the late morning hours just before noon.
According to the study mentioned above, the chances an applicant will be invited in for an interview are five times higher if they send their applications between the hours of 6 o’clock a.m. and 10 o’clock a.m. Starting around 2 o’clock in the afternoon, the chances that a recruiter will react positively to an application they receive begins to decline.

Even when you’re searching for a job “full time”, you still shouldn’t send your application during the lunch break or in the evening. This is because, according to the study, the odds that the person responsible for hiring will rate your application positively begin to decrease during these parts of the day.
Ultimately, what one is able to take away from this study is some generally applicable information: if you’re on the hunt for a job, then you want to make sure you reach the right person at just the right time.
